Is your hair looking a bit flat? Are you having trouble trying to comb through it? Don't panic because you are not the only one who is experiencing such hair dilemmas. Given that hair problems are quite normal, here are some basic hair care tips that you will find very useful.

Hair Care Tip#1 Avoid getting all sorts of treatments done to your hair: If you are the type who likes to experiment with your hair whether with your hair color or your hair style, doing all sorts of treatments often will have a negative effect on your hair in the long run. As long as it is not necessary, avoid changing hair colors so often or making your hair go through all sorts of process just to achieve your desired hairstyle. Learn to give your hair a break every now and then.

Hair Care Tip#2 Find a shampoo that works, then condition your hair every other day: Switching from one shampoo to another can also make your hair dull and dry. Avoid shampoos that are heavily scented and make sure to rinse well while bathing or else the buildup from the shampoo's residue on your hair will cause you to have dry, unruly hair plus dandruff.

Hair Care Tip#3 Keep your hair away from the sun: if you find yourself under the intense heat of the sun, use an umbrella or wear a hat in order to keep your hair from drying. If you're at the beach though, try to get one of those leave on conditioners that are meant to protect your hair from the sun.

Hair Care Tip#4 Get hot oil or any hair conditioning treatment once a month: When you find a hair conditioning treatment that works well for you, stick to it. No matter how well you take care of your hair, the time will come when you'll eventually need to have a special treatment done to keep it soft and smooth. Whether it's hot oil treatment or some other hair conditioning treatment, make sure that you follow the hairdresser's advice when he/she tells you that such kind of treatment for your hair should be done every two to six months.

Hair Care Tip#5 Comb/Brush your hair often: Especially after taking a shower, make sure to dry your hair properly then comb through the tangles to ensure that your hair won't end up with messy hair especially when you're already rushing to work in the morning. While your hair's still wet, gently dry it out with a towel because your hair is very fragile and can easily break when it's wet so just be gentle when drying it with a towel.
